Thank you for stressing the importance of building muscle as it pertains to losing weight. This is so misunderstood, as people think doing just cardio alone will be effective. Your video is super informative – thanks again!

So true.. I am just about to hit 40 so this video is right up my alley. Over time I have realized I really have to be careful with what I eat and I don't respond the same way I used to.

Slower metabolism after 40 is a real thing. I miss my 30's metabolism but I try to workout as much as I can and balance healthy eating with enjoying food. As long as i stay active that's my main thing. As soon as I stop moving even just in 2 weeks i can see and feel it.

Thanks for breaking this whole carbs and calories thing down in a way that's easy to understand. Macros are so important and it's so important to not neglect the micros in whole foods.

Great video! Overall I do agree with your point of view, however there were a few points that caught my attention. I would have loved to see a few more sources of where you got your information from, as well as you said that calorie counting for women over 40 is unhealthy. While I see your intention behind this statement I would be careful with bold statements like that. Calorie counting can be effective and healthy for any age or gender if done correctly. Great video!

Completely agree that a calorie is not a calorie and a carb is not a carb! There is such a difference in what foods are made of and how our body reacts to them — I have done low carb diets in the past and now I'm mostly vegan and definitely high carb but have more energy and a more stable mood for sure!

So interesting, thanks for sharing this Debbie, so true that all of our bodies are unique, so we should treat it accordingly. Have actually tried intermittent and prolongued fasting and felt great after, but others I know really struggle with it. So goes to show each person should assess what works for THEM.
