One of the most common questions I get is “how do I lose weight?”
The scale isn’t budging…. You are putting in the time, working out and lifting heavier than you have prior. Your clothes are FITTING better and you FEEL smaller but what is going on? That DARN SCALE number isn’t budging or even worse, it keeps going up? Before you toss the scale out the window there is a bit of critical information you must learn about Fat vs. Muscle.

Did you know that 5 lbs of muscle and 5 lbs of fat may WEIGH the same technically if you put them on the scale, BUT the same weight in fat takes up so much more MASS then the same weight in muscle?

Sure, if you WEIGH them they will weigh the same but look at how much volume the fat takes up? Look also at how tight and hard the muscle looks in comparison to the jiggly fat block?

The same people that say they “know this” are the ones that get upset when they lift weights and wonder why the scale isn’t “drastically” going down. 5 lbs of muscle does NOT weigh more than 5 lbs of fat. The 5 lbs of muscle weighs the SAME as 5 lbs of fat. Muscle just takes up so much less space than fat. So yes, your weight may not adjust much but when you replace fat with muscle you will be so much smaller and tighter.

Oh, and FYI- It takes 3500 calories to lose ONE lb of fat.

    Dumbest statement I’ve ever heard. Hey why not add this one. Feathers weight the same as muscles and fat. If I take 5lb of feathers and 5lb of fat and 5lb of muscle they all way the same… 5lb! No Shit Sherlock 🕵️‍♂️.. when people say muscle weighs more then fat they are obviously speaking about volume. Not even a minute in to this video and I’m out. You’re not smart lady and you’re patronising your viewers on the assumption they’re dumber then you.

    5 lbs of muscle is of course equal to 5 lbs of fat, but that's also equal to 5 lbs of feathers and 5 lbs of concrete…so what's your point?

    Eh? You just said if you take the same weight of muscle and fat they’d weigh the same… well yes, that’s what ‘weight’ means! But comparing the same volume of fat and muscle shows that muscle does weigh more. That’s kind of how we compare the weights of stuff 🧐

    Hi, I lost my weight by doing exercise and dieting but now I'm gaining weight if I doing exercise pls tell me what I need to do to reduce body fat I feel my muscles are burning during my exercise ND I gain weight after 2-3 days what I have to do to get slim body

    if you take 5 pounds of muscle and 5 pounds of fat they will, of course, both weigh 5 pounds. This is because you said that you took 5 pounds of each. That's like saying that 5 pounds of feathers weighs the same as 5 pounds of iron. OF COURSE IT DOES, YOU ALREADY SPECIFIED THAT THEY WERE BOTH 5 POUNDS. When people say muscle weighs more than fat, they're correct, if you take an equal chunk of each (equal in size not in weight) then the muscle will weigh more.
