πŸ‘‰ The Secret Garden 2021

THE SECRET GARDEN starring Colin Firth, Julie Walters and Dixie Egerickx is a new take on the beloved classic novel of the same name written by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Set in England during a new time period in 1947, the film follows a young orphan girl who, after being sent to live with her uncle, discovers a magical garden on the grounds of his estate.

I have seen the original movie and I have seen the remake, and the Broadway play, and this movie is as good as all of those. I like the differences between the different telling of the story.πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

The only thing this movie has in common with the book is the character names and that there is a garden. This movie is nice but it should've been called A Magic Garden.

Ugh this is a horrible adaption just as Little Women was last year. Why do they mess up classics?

It got my hopes up and then demolished them with Colin Firth's first line in this trailer.

Go read the book if you want to know the story. This movie will not be a faithful adaptation of it.

How could they ruin a beautiful movie with witchcraft? The 1993 film was full of innocence, this new version does not deserve to be called "The Secret Garden", it has nothing to do with the book as well. Totally disappointed.

It’s been years since I read this book. I can’t wait to reread it and watch this film!

hilarious to see people on here recommending the 1993 version as the "original" when the original talkie version (and an excellent film) is the 1949 one with Margaret O'Brien. That one is very much worth watching. Of course the true original version is the one from 1919.

Can I just say, I love how Colin Firth plays the uncle. He played adult Colin in the Hallmark Secret Garden in the 80s. It was nice to see him in this as well.
