This makes me feel powerful – knowing that I am building the strength to hike some difficult trails in the future!
I think itโs awesome that you are sharing your journey into running. Itโs very inspirational. Iโve viewed runners as a complete oddity never understanding the appeal. But Iโm starting to understand a lot more now. I can see how it can be liberating.
R3D26 done!! Boy time went by so fast today! Didnโt do the running but walked a little faster and did some other exercises during those 15 seconds!! Great workout for me even without running!! Thanks again Pahla!! Happy birthday if I remember right someone posted today yesterday that today was your birthday. Which for me is 11.9.
I am starting to like running, as long as I can do a walk in between.
Not seeing that amazon link for that shirt you have me wanting! ?
Never been fond of running but love to walk and I found these 15 sec running bursts were just the thing to get my heartrate up while keeping it moderate! Thank you!!
Pahla B, I love this! Can you do a learning to run series? I would love that!
I love these workouts. I took this one outside!
Didnโt do the running part but did other exercises during those 15 seconds and my legs are feeling it . Kinda shaking lol! Thank you again for all the good info and the constant reminders about moderation and that itโs not the exercise for losing weight but what Iโm eating. Looking forward to doing this series again and again. 2nd time done!!!!
The learn to run workouts are my favorite. I loved it! I use to love to run up until about age 36 when I quit and didn't try again until I was 47 years old. By that time I was also 55 lbs heavier. I tried to run again off and on over the last few years, but with the extra weight and added pressure on my knees I couldn't do it. I've lost 21 lbs so far, so it's slowly getting better. Learning to run again is part of my Big Picture and super goals.
LOVED it!
I did this one walking 30 and jogging 1 minute. I've done your 30/30 and 1/1 before, but this was the first time I the recovery time was shorter than the jog time. Now the jog wasn't fast, but I was just proud I could do it (and it was definitely more intense than just walking). And I accidentally set my gym boss up for 9 rounds and not 8 like the video, so got an extra in. Worked up a good sweat. 9 rounds seemed just right for me. Thanks, P!
Ok, I am 61. I like the running. I may not take it outside. But I think I will do your let's run podcasts. I like it. Just sorry its si late in game for me.
I loved today's workout! I have always wanted to try running but just did not think I could pull it off. I think I just might be able to after all if I go about working up to it at a reasonable pace. I am 65 years old and have been told I am too old but I am NOT so sure that is true! : ) Have a great day and I will see you tomorrow!
Day 25 and 26 are my favorites !!๐
The most moderate workout for me so far. But I have run on occasion. I do have to say a big thank you. I realized today I have more energy working out 7 days a week moderately than I ever had working out 4 or 5 days a week more intensely for longer periods of time. I've only dropped a couple pounds, which is ok. But having energy and not being tired all the time is amazing. THANK YOU!!!!
My daily dose of sanity , thank you x
I loved day 26! I must've missed the first running day while I was on my weekly walking day. I was a runner in my 30s, ran the Delaware marathon at 40, hurt my foot, felt kind of worn out, and just kind of waned off of running after that. I have polycystic kidney disease and it really started to kick in (meaning loss of kidney function) in my mid 40's and I just kind of went with the idea that I wasn't going to be thin and fit anymore. Peri/Menopause definitely fed into this narrative, as well. I'm at 33% kidney function now (at 20% you can be listed for transplant, 10% start dialysis) and I nap for an hour or two every day, which I used to feel guilty about but now I don't – my body needs it. My kidneys are big and getting bigger (PKD belly), and I kept thinking that was the only reason my clothes weren't fitting. Well, my arms and thighs really have nothing to do with my kidneys! So I started looking around for a plan that might work for me now that I'm 51 with a chronic disease. I found Pahla – yay!!! I'm down about 4 pounds in 27 days (I want to lose about 15 lbs total) and today's 'run' felt soooo good!! Like, maybe I can get outside and run again at some point! I'm just generally feeling happier and lighter about life since I started this plan. I'm super thankful that you're out there, Pahla! Plus I'm a crazy cat mama, so that really reeled me in – ha! ๐
I love this workout. Back in January I couldn't run at all, but now the short intervals are no probblem at all!
I can't believe I'm going to say this but Day 10 and Day 26 are my favorite so far! I love all your workouts, but really do love the jogging intervals. Can you learn to run at a moderate pace while still doing the rest of your body workouts…strength, flexibility, balance, etc.
This was fun & your insight into running is so helpful. Once I am able to move forward along with your new core info sheet can you advise which videos to start and follow so I can begin a more sensible and longer lasting running habit. I just want to build up to it and be injury free. 30 mins would be a goal as I miss my โquiet run timesโ. ๐๐ป๐
I know I wouldn't have said this in January, but in JULY….I love this workout – I skipped day 30 to do it. Love it!
I loved the running part, so I switched running and walking to make it more moderate for me. Thanks a lot
Running is definitely not my thing mostly because of how bad my feet are. Right now I just want to get to a place where I can get through a day with minimal foot pain. I'm happy that I made it through day 26!!! Thanks Pahla โบ๏ธ
Love, love, loved this workout. Your talks are always motivational, but this one really hit home for me. Thanks for what you do!
